Lions Eye Bank of Delaware Valley changed its name to AltruVision on July 1, 2023.

August is Make-A-Will Month: Leave a Legacy of Sight with AltruVision

August is Make-A-Will Month: Leave a Legacy of Sight with AltruVisionEach August, nonprofits across the country observe Make-A-Will Month—a timely reminder of the importance of planning for the future, protecting loved ones, and creating a legacy that reflects your values. At AltruVision – A Lions Eye Bank, we believe that one of the most meaningful legacies you can leave is the gift of sight.

Making or updating your will ensures your wishes are honored and your family is provided for. But it’s also a powerful opportunity to support the causes that matter most to you. Including a bequest to AltruVision in your estate plan allows you to extend your compassion beyond your lifetime—providing hope, healing, and vision to individuals in need of sight-restoring cornea transplants.

As a nonprofit eye bank, AltruVision recovers, processes, and distributes donated cornea tissue for transplant, research, and education. Through our Gratis Tissue Program, we ensure that no one is denied the opportunity to regain their sight because of financial hardship. And through our international partnerships your legacy can reach around the world.

Leaving a gift in your will is simple. A charitable bequest can be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or a portion of what remains after other obligations are fulfilled. Your planned gift can also offer potential tax advantages and peace of mind, knowing your values will continue to make a difference.

During Make-A-Will Month, we encourage you to:

  • Review or create your will.
  • Consider including AltruVision in your legacy planning.
  • Speak with your attorney or financial advisor about charitable giving options.
  • Let us know if you’ve already included us in your will—we would love to thank you and welcome you to our Visionary Legacy Society.

Your foresight today ensures that tomorrow, someone can see their loved ones again, return to work, or attend school—all because you care enough to make a lasting impact.

To learn more about planned giving or to request a free brochure, please contact MaryAnn Ragone at mragone@altruvision.org or call 215-563-1679 X 114.

This August, take a step that protects your future and illuminates someone else’s. Make your will. Leave the gift of sight.
