Writing to your loved one’s cornea recipient
As a donor family member, you may wish to communicate with the recipient(s) of your loved one’s corneas. Writing to the recipients can sometimes be a comfort, and many donor family members who write choose to share a bit of information about their loved one—his or her family, occupation, interests, etc.
Sending a “thank you” to your donor’s family
Any time is a good time to write. Many transplant recipients wish to send letters of gratitude to the families of their donor. Families often find comfort receiving these letters and feel positive about their decision to donate and leave a legacy of sight for others.
